Bachelor Program

In this interdisciplinary English-language degree program, students acquire fundamental knowledge in the fields of computer science, mathematics, and the ethical-philosophical contextualization of AI. Various research- and application-oriented electives allow the students to follow their interests and choose individual specializations.

Degree: Bachelor of Science (180 ECTS)
Duration: 6 semesters (full time) | 12 semesters (part time)
Language: English

  • Mathematics for Data Science 1 (10 ECTS)
  • Mathematics for Data Science 2 (10 ECTS)
  • Probability and Stochastic Processes (5 ECTS)

  • AI Perspectives (5 ECTS)
  • AI Fundamentals 1 (5 ECTS)
  • Logic and Symbolic AI (7,5 ECTS)
  • AI Fundamentals 2 (10 ECTS)
  • Ethics and Philosophy of AI (5 ECTS)

  • Students select introductory modules from application domains to understand the areas in which AI methods are used.

  • 6 x 5 ECTS

  • Students select modules on specific AI topics to deepen or broaden their knowledge acquired in the compulsory modules.

  • Students select one seminar module on a cutting-edge AI topic to further familiarize themselves with AI research.

  • 1 x 10 ECTS

  • Students select one project module to put the knowledge gained from the theoretical modules into practice.

  • Free choice from the courses offered at FAU to acquire further key qualifications (only English language courses up to level B1+ are excluded)
