General questions regarding the admission test
In order to be admitted to the BSc AI, you have to pass a Qualification Assessment Process, which includes an online test. This is to ensure that applicants can prove that they meet the special qualitative requirements of the degree program and have the skills that are expected to lead to a successful course of study.
During the Qualification Assessment Process the university entrance qualification and the online test are taken into account. Both grades are converted into points and then added together. You must achieve a total of at least 140 points to be admitted. Additional documents such as letters of recommendation, additional achievements or further education do not provide a bonus.
Detailed information as well as the conversion scales can be found in the statutes on the Qualification Assessment Process (= Eignungsfeststellungsverfahren/EFV).
All those who wish to be admitted to the BSc AI, have to pass a Qualification Assessment Process, which includes an online test. You will receive an invitation to take the online test as soon as your application has been received and the BSc AI Admission Committee has reviewed the documents that are relevant to them.
If you passed the Qualification Assessment Process in a previous year, but didn’t enroll at that time, you should upload your letter of admission for BSc AI at FAU together with the other application documents to Campo. The BSc AI Admissions Committee will check whether the letter of admission is still valid or whether you need to take part in the Qualification Assessment Process and the online test again. If you receive an invitation you need to take the test again.
Please note: The offer of admission is only valid as long as no significant changes are made to the statutes of the Qualification Assessment Process or the examination regulations.

Each applicant can only take the test once during the application phase.
Anyone who does not pass the Qualification Assessment Process can apply a second time for BSc AI in a later year and take the test again. More than these two attempts are not possible.
No, every applicant only gets one shot at the test. Once you start the test, you have only that chance to complete it. It is not possible to cancel the test and retry later. Similarly, it is not possible to take the test again on a later date to improve your result.
If you attempt to take the test more than once, this will be considered cheating and your application will be rejected.

If an applicant is admitted to the BSc AI but doesn’t enrol in time, their offer of admission remains valid and they can enrol the following year (after reapplying incl. the letter of admission, but without having to go through the Qualification Assessment Process again). However, the offer of admission is only valid as long as no significant changes are made to the statutes of the Qualification Assessment Process or the examination regulations.
You will not get a second chance once you have started the test, even if you don’t answer any questions and cancel immediately.
If you are not available at the test date, please send an e-mail to study-ai-bachelor@fau.de. You may then receive an invitation to the next test date. This can delay the final decision on your admission.

Failure to take the test will result in the application being rejected.
If you are found to have cheated, your application will be rejected.
The admission test is designed to ensure that an applicant has a chance of successfully completing their studies. The first year of study at a German university’s Faculty of Engineering is very demanding, with drop-out rates in engineering and mathematical sciences between 30 and 40 percent. The online test should therefore also be seen as a means of self-assessment. If you can’t solve these tasks yourself and try to cheat on this test, there’s a good chance you’ll just waste time and money but won’t graduate.
Exceptions to the application process are not possible due to the large number of applications and the equal treatment of all applicants.

To a certain extent, a lower grade in the admission test can be compensated for by a good grade in the university entrance qualification and vice versa.
As the Qualification Assessment Process also takes the university entrance qualification into account, the grades/points of those admitted can vary.
Both grades are converted into points and then added together. You must achieve a total of at least 140 points to be admitted. Detailed information as well as the conversion scales can be found in the statutes on the Qualification Assessment Process (= Eignungsfeststellungsverfahren/EFV).
